Happy Thanksgiving! During this season of gratitude, I want to thank you for tuning into The Spa Dr. Podcast. Transform Your Beauty Routine 

In our first episode this month, my guest Nadine Artemis discusses renegade beauty and how to transform the way you think about beauty and your self-care routine. Nadine is the author of two books including Renegade Beauty: Reveal and Revive Your Natural Radiance and Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums. She is also the creator of Living Libations and is an innovative aromacologist, developing immune-enhancing formulas and medicinal blends for health and wellness.

In this episode, Nadine shares her personal story of how she became interested in the holistic beauty space by making her own cosmetic creations. We also talk about how to take a holistic approach to embracing natural beauty in the age of social media filters and photo editing. In our conversation, we delve into the importance of reclaiming your body and health in a nourishing way by using the wealth of tools available to practice sustainable self-care practices. Essential Oils and Skin 

During the next episode with my guest Dr. Lindsey Elmore, we examine the therapeutic benefits of using essential oils in skin care. Dr. Elmore is a chemist and a clinical pharmacist. She is also a speaker, author, and travels the world educating audiences about natural wellness. Dr. Elmore has also written two books:  Essentials: 75 Answers to Common Questions about Essential Oils and Supplements, and the Clean Slate Cleanse Cookbook and Workbook series.

Have you ever wondered what kind of essential oils work with different skin types? If so, you will learn a lot from this episode! Essential oils are also a wonderful alternative to synthetic fragrances and perfumes. 

In this episode, Dr. Elmore explains the big spectrum of temperature when it comes to essential oils. Some of them feel very cold on the skin. These are going to be your essential oils that are highly concentrated in menthol. At the other end of the spectrum, we have essential oils that are high in are called “hot chemical” constituents. Constituents such as “cinnamaldehyde” is highly concentrated in cinnamon essential oil as well as cassia essential oil. Eugenol warms on the skin and is found in oils like oregano essential oil. 

To wrap it up, Dr. Elmore also shares important tips on how to avoid essential oils that are laden with hidden artificial ingredients and how to recognize the real deal.

Freedom From Anxiety 

Do you have a voice in your head that you just can’t turn off? In the next episode, Dr. Alice Fong and I have a candid discussion about anxiety. Dr. Alice Fong is a naturopathic doctor specializing in anxiety and stress management who helps people develop more awareness of their minds and bodies to give them the power to heal themselves.

In our conversation, Dr. Fong tackles the “I’m not good enough” belief head-on and why we have to be prepared to separate ourselves from negative thoughts and reality. In addition, she shares details about a new system that she developed, the Amour System, which is broken down into five parts that take a holistic approach to being your best self and reducing anxiety. The program starts with the importance of nutrition, something we all need a little help with during the temptation of sugary treats during the holiday season. 

Finally, Dr. Fong shares several helpful tips to reduce stress and anxiety, something many of us need this time of year.

Releasing Tension 

This week, you don’t want to miss November’s final episode with Dr. Tara Rasta. We discuss how it is essential to take the whole person into account to address physical, mental, and spiritual needs when it comes to personal well-being.
